Floor Restoration Services for Schools

Floor sanding and sports lacquer for schools in Harrow, with court markings and full RAMS.

Wooden floors for schools

Few floors work as hard as a school hall. Worn lacquer, faded lines and loose blocks are not just unsightly - they can become a safety issue. We restore school floors across Harrow so they are safe, smart and ready for the new term.

Our school services

  • Dust-free sanding of halls and classrooms back to fresh timber

  • Hardwearing sports lacquer with suitable slip resistance

  • Court markings painted between coats and sealed under the final lacquer

  • Replacing damaged blocks and boards before sanding

Working in the holidays

We schedule work during half-terms, Easter and summer holidays so lessons are never disrupted. Curing time for the lacquer is built into the plan, so the hall is ready when term starts. Smaller jobs, such as a single classroom, can sometimes be done over a long weekend.

Safety, RAMS and insurance

Every school project includes full RAMS, COSHH data for our finishes and our £5m public liability insurance certificate. Our team follows your safeguarding and site procedures at all times.

Why schools choose to restore

Original school floors are often high-quality hardwood that simply cannot be bought at the same price today. A restoration is far cheaper than a replacement and much quicker to complete. It is also the greener option, keeping good timber in use. Our fixed quotes make budgeting and approval straightforward.

Between restorations

Good daily care makes a big difference. Barrier mats, pH-neutral cleaners and periodic re-coats all extend the life of the finish. We give your site team written guidance after every job.

More for your school

School work is part of our wider public spaces service. Between full restorations, re-coating the lacquer keeps the hall protected for longer. Loose blocks are fixed through our parquet floor repairs. Have a look at our recent projects.

FAQ

Questions about floor restoration services for schools

All questions
Do you work outside Harrow?

Our team works across Harrow and the neighbouring towns and villages. Not sure if you are covered?, send us a message — we can usually help for larger jobs.

Can you repaint sports hall markings?

Yes. After sanding we apply sports-grade lacquer and can repaint court markings for badminton, netball and other games between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.

Can you work during school holidays?

We regularly work during holidays, evenings and weekends. Large halls are often completed within a week, so disruption is kept to a minimum.

Is the quote really fixed?

We visit for free, look at the floor and give you a fixed written quote. There are no surprises on the day, unless you ask us to add extra work. You can book a survey online in a couple of minutes.

Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?

We provide risk assessments, method statements and insurance details before work begins. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with strict safety rules.

When can the furniture go back?

You can usually walk on the floor in socks after a few hours. Furniture can go back after 24–48 hours, and rugs after about a week while the finish fully cures.
