How our guarantee works
What the guarantee covers
All floor restoration work we carry out — sanding, staining and finishing — is guaranteed for 3 months from the date we complete the job. If anything we did is not right within that period, we return and fix it at no cost to you.
It covers faults including:
A finish that peels, lifts or does not cure as it should
Visible sanding marks or uneven sanding left by our machines
Stain colour that is uneven or does not match the approved sample
Repairs we carried out that work loose under normal use
The guarantee applies under normal domestic or agreed commercial use, provided the aftercare advice we give you is followed.
What is not covered
Gap filling is not covered by the guarantee. Wooden floors are a natural material and move with the seasons and with the building itself. That movement can cause filler to crack or work loose and gaps to reappear, however carefully the work was done. This is the nature of the timber rather than a fault in the work, so we cannot guarantee it — see our gap filling page for more on how we approach it.
We also cannot cover:
Damage from water, leaks, flooding or standing spills
Marks from furniture moved or used without protective pads
Damage from pets' claws, high heels, grit or wheeled equipment
Problems with the subfloor, joists, damp or the structure of the building
Natural changes in timber colour caused by sunlight and age
Floors not maintained as advised, or cleaned with unsuitable products
How to make a claim
If you notice a problem, contact us as soon as possible with a description and a few photos. We will inspect the floor and, where the issue is covered, book in the remedial work at no cost. Full details are set out in our terms and conditions.
